OUR CATS

Our cats are living with us as a family member. They have acess to our house, they are friendly and are getting a lot of attention and love.
We are a big family so there is always someone who plays or just have a cat or kitten on their lap. Our cats gets a bath when they need it, and once a week we groom them, and cut their claws if they need that. Our morning routines are serving food, always wet food and they have dry food 24/7. Everyday we have the same routines, same hours, so if we are late one day, the cats are for sure waiting outside the bedroom door, for food.
Then the cleaning starts, their space and their rooms, where the males are living, and space for the females with their kittens. It's a lot of cleaning, their litterboxes, water and food bowls. Cat trees and toys. Once a week we throw all the cat litter, and clean all litterboxes with soap and water. Then we use bleach, and put new clean litter sand.
Same thing every day.
Cats and kittens need attention too. So it takes time its a full time job.
We love what we do and we love our cats.

KITTENS

When we have kittens, I'm always with their mother at birth. There is when it starts. The first very special moment, a new born kitten. Sometimes it goes smooth, sometimes there can be a difficult birth. Nothing is for sure, and this is what people don't realize. When you are a breeder you are working 24/7.
Why is a kitten so expensive? This is why!
We help the mother feeding the kitten, if she is tired, maybe she has no milk. Maybe it is a big litter. Every 3rd hour you will help the mother cleaning the kittens, feed them. That's a full time job and you have to get up middle of the night.
To have kittens it is a lot of cleaning, and we put a lof of time to help the kittens get socilized and used to noise and people.
Our Afroditedolls kittens are knows to be very socilized, that is something I'm very proud of. I keep the kittens in their own space, a playpen. It can be very dangerous to have them run around without control in the house when they are so very young. We let them out when we are at home and we can see what they do and where they are. So many things can be a trap!
I start to serve the kittens wet food at the age of 4 weeks, that is a good age and usually they start using the litterbox at the same time. Kittens learn very easy and fast.
At this age I deworm them too, for the first time.
I always buy them a lot of toys, different kind of toys, cat tree to use their claws on and climb on.
We are handle them all the time, kissing them hug them and it is such a cute age.
I take my kittens for their first vaccine at the age of 8 weeks old, then at 12 weeks for their 2nd. At this age they have also been dewormed a couple of times. My vet are doing early spay/neutering so at 12-13 weeks the kittens who are going as pet they will be fixed.
So from the age of 13weeks and after, our Afroditedolls kittens can usually move to their new families.

If you are looking for a family cat, a good companion ship, friend, a calm cat. Ragdoll could be for you, they are big, cute, they love attention, people. Ragdoll is not a very active cat, and they sleep a lot of hours per day. Yes they like play, but they get tired fast.
Ragdoll cats, was a perfect match for me and my family, I'm totally in love with the rase.

RAGDOLL

The first Ragdoll cat was introduced by a Californian Persian cat breeder, Ann Baker in the 1960’s. She first bred a female Persian cat to a Seal Point Berman and one of their progenies was matched with a female Burmese which led to the creation of Ragdoll cats. The Ragdoll was registered only under the International Ragdoll Cat Association and Ann Baker who laid very strict rules for the people who wanted to breed this cat species. In 1975, a couple, Laura and Danny Dayton, bought a pair of Ragdoll cats from Baker and bred them to develop the standard Ragdoll breed accepted today.
